5/6/13

Good Morning!

In math, we will practice word problems and work on equal names for addition problems. No social studies today. Literacy is a little different today. We have NWEA testing. So we will do reading number 1, then we will go to testing, then we will come back and do the rest of our reading workshop. No writing today.

Specials today are PE and computer. Lunch is fish nuggets.

  2. The NWEA testing is a computer based assessment that sees what the student knows and how that student compares to the school, state, and even the nation. The assessment gives the teacher information on what the student knows and what they need more help with. The assessment is one of many tools to help measure growth and areas of need. This is the third time we have tested. We test fall, winter, and spring throughout the district.

The following description is from the NWEA website:
Our flagship, state-aligned computer-based testing system, MAP, is built on 30 years of research and refinement, and adapts to the child in real-time as the test progresses for a pinpoint picture of learning achievement and readiness.
